BeGood Lurex: a fabric to shine and stay in shape
What is lurex? When should you wear it without looking out of place?
Discover everything about this glittering fabric and add it to your outfits for a more chic look.
How can you brighten up your look without overdoing it?
With Lurex, of course — a fabric patented in the 1940s that transforms even the most classic garments into a sparkling triumph.
Let’s discover together its history, how it is produced, and why it can be combined with Dermofibra® Cosmetics to create a luminous outfit that makes you look more beautiful and feel fitter too.
The origin and history of Lurex®
Lurex is the name of a metallic fabric made of synthetic fibers coated with a layer of aluminum that gives it its distinctive shiny appearance.
It was patented in the United States in the mid-1940s by the Dow Badische Company, an affiliate of the Dow Chemical Company based in Midland, Michigan.
At first, it was mainly used to create sophisticated evening gowns and was not commonly worn.
However, during the sparkling fashion era of the 1980s, it was discovered by the general public and became the go-to fabric for disco outfits, as well as sweaters and trousers designed to make the wearer shine.
After falling out of fashion in the early 2000s, today it is once again used to create both evening wear and everyday clothing, ideal for anyone who does not want to give up a glamorous touch on any occasion, from the office to a walk with friends.

Why Lurex is more high-performing than lamé
Lurex is made of synthetic fibers coated with a layer of vaporized metal, allowing the fabric to retain its original characteristics while becoming shiny and eye-catching.
Lamé garments also illuminate the silhouette and create a chic appearance, but lamé is made half from synthetic fibers and half from metallic yarns such as thin threads of gold, silver, or bronze.
In lamé garments, therefore, the actual fibers make up only part of the final fabric, whereas with Lurex the entire fabric maintains its original properties, changing only in aesthetic appearance.
This means Lurex can be used to create garments that are sophisticated yet durable, comfortable, and stretchy at the same time.
When to wear Lurex
Today, Lurex has become fully accepted in everyday fashion and, when styled properly, can be worn daily, not only on special occasions.
Here are a few examples:
A lurex sweater for work
Tired of the usual plain sweaters?
With a lurex turtleneck, you can add movement to your outfit without turning to multicolored prints or embroidery.
Thanks to Lurex, your sweater will shimmer in the sunlight, making your look more refined without being excessive.

Pair your black bronze lurex turtleneck with garments in natural shades, such as white trousers and a camel-colored vest.
This will further highlight the tiny metallic dots that brighten the silhouette, making you feel more beautiful and radiant even during gloomy days spent behind a desk.
Lurex leggings for a stroll downtown
Lurex leggings can transform a pair of black pants into a versatile yet much more chic garment.
When paired with a black top, lurex leggings create a highly sophisticated total look, while matching them with a cream-colored sweater makes them suitable for virtually any occasion — even shopping trips!

Moreover, if you choose BeGood Lurex leggings, you can enjoy all the benefits of Dermofibra® Cosmetics without sacrificing style.
Lurex and Dermofibra® Cosmetics: the perfect combination for your beauty and wellness
Thanks to the production technique used for Lurex, Dermofibra® Cosmetics fibers can also shine and create more glamorous garments without losing their unique properties.
Although the external appearance changes, the qualities of Dermofibra® Cosmetics remain unaltered and, when in contact with body heat, the fabric continues to release its active ingredients.
Leggings and turtlenecks made with Dermofibra® Cosmetics and finished in Lurex are not only beautiful to look at, but also functional, because they help fight cellulite, nourish and tone tissues, moisturize the skin, promote circulation, and reduce hip and waist measurements while you wear them.
No more choosing between aesthetics and well-being: with BeGood collections, you can shine without giving up the benefits of shaping garments.
