The return of houndstooth!
An iconic Scottish pattern that never gets old and never tires.
A timeless evergreen capable of making us feel immediately elegant and perfect in every situation. It is the Pied de poule print, which with its optical pattern is preparing to return overwhelmingly into our autumn-winter wardrobe and to impose itself among the next autumn trends. We at BeGood, as you know, love leggings.
The history of pied de poule was born in Scotland around 1800 and its meaning is literally "chicken's foot", precisely because the design vaguely resembled the animal's feet. Traditionally used to create wool garments such as cloaks and scarves, initially pied de poule was mainly used for garments worn by Scottish shepherds to protect themselves from the winter cold while leading the flock to pasture.
It was only cleared for general use in 1934 when King Edward VIII wore a pied de poule suit that was featured and commented on in a well-known fashion magazine. It is the beginning of a legend. Shortly thereafter, the English nobility and high bourgeoisie began to wear it with increasing frequency until it became a "posh" and sought-after fabric. The final consecration arrived with Christian Dior, when he chose this very pattern for some of his iconic suits and subsequently to customize perfumes and accessories.

Today, pied de poule, also known by the term houndstooth (literally hound's teeth), is increasingly used also with fabrics different from Scottish wool, such as cotton or synthetic fabrics. And various garments are made, ranging from classic coats to masculine-cut suits, from scarves to dresses and accessories. Pied de poule remains a must-have capable of giving life to outfits with an almost vintage but always very current feel. Thanks to its optical pattern which lends itself to the most varied and original combinations.

And it is in this wake that the new BeGood® garment is inserted, born from the desire to offer a cosmetotextile garment capable of satisfying the needs and tastes of women, without giving up a more glamorous touch in line with the major fashion trends. Thus arrives the new black shaping legging with pied de poule inserts.
As with all BeGood® garments, this one also fits into the streetwear trend, meaning it is a garment capable of adapting to different uses: from the gym and outdoor physical activity, or perfect for daily use and for all occasions.
The pied de poule legging features a double-layered waistband for a super slimming effect but which does not constrict in any way. Like all BeGood garments, this one is also made with Dermofibra® Cosmetics, composed of inorganic compounds and active ingredients such as Aloe Vera and Vitamins A & E to moisturize and revitalize the skin while the garment is worn, and caffeine to help reduce the "orange peel" appearance. Furthermore, it moisturizes the skin leaving it soft without the use of any cream. More generally, the combined action of this special shaping fabric and bio-infrared creates an intelligent garment that stimulates microcirculation, eliminating excess liquids while carrying out a reshaping effect that redefines and reduces the circumference of hips, waist, and thighs.

A perfect garment, therefore, to be worn regularly, combining, like the entire BeGood line, well-being, innovation, and technology.
But how to wear it best? Pied de poule, as mentioned, lends itself to the most diverse combinations.
- For a classic style, perfect also for the office, you can pair BeGood pied de poule leggings with a white shirt, a solid-colored masculine-cut blazer, and a pair of ankle boots. Then, a large and capacious it-bag is essential to always have everything you need to face the day.
- For a rockier style, focus on a simple white cotton t-shirt and a leather jacket, aged and lived-in just right. Complete with a pair of combat boots for a biker and aggressive touch, just enough to make you feel gritty and confident. The right outfit for an aperitif with long-time friends or for a quiet first date over a coffee.
- For a more colorful style, choose colors capable of "breaking" the rigor of the black and white of the pied de poule, giving a flashy but always polished touch to your outfit. For example, red is perfect, to be declined with a soft silk blouse, with a leather clutch, and with a vermilion red (no transfer, so as not to ruin it when wearing a mask!) lipstick. The contrast will give you a chic but modern touch, capable of getting you noticed at an important event or appointment.
- For a sportier style, have fun pairing the leggings with your most colorful and ironic t-shirts, maybe those you are most attached to but wear less and less, put on your sneakers and an oversized sweatshirt, and enjoy the mild climate of these autumn days with some outdoor sports activity.
